About
Unspool began with a simple problem: teleprompters are supposed to help you speak naturally to an audience, but on a Mac, the script is often just far enough from the camera to make it obvious that you’re reading.
We thought there should be a simpler solution.
Unspool is a purpose-built teleprompter for Mac designed around one idea; put the words where your eyes already need to be. Its camera-nesting design allows the teleprompter to sit directly beneath your Mac’s built-in camera, helping you maintain a more natural line of sight while presenting, recording, teaching, meeting, or speaking to an audience online.
We deliberately kept Unspool focused. There are no accounts to create, no subscription to manage, and no complicated production environment to learn. Open the app, type or paste your script, adjust it to your liking, move Unspool beneath the camera, and start speaking.
That’s also the philosophy behind the product:
Unspool should disappear when you begin speaking.
We aren’t interested in adding features simply to make a longer feature list. As Unspool evolves, new capabilities will have to earn their place by making it easier to prepare your words, deliver them naturally, or stay connected with the people on the other side of the camera.
Because sometimes better software isn’t software that does more.
It’s software that makes what you’re trying to do feel effortless.
