Support

Unspool was designed to be simple, but if something isn’t working the way you expect, we’re here to help.

Getting Started

Open Unspool and type or paste your script into the main window. Use the controls above your script to adjust the text size, background opacity, playback, and scrolling speed.

When you’re ready to speak, drag Unspool toward the top of your Mac’s display using the three-line handle. As the window reaches the camera, Unspool will automatically enter Camera Mode and nest beneath your Mac’s built-in camera.

Camera Mode Shortcuts

Spacebar — Play or pause your script
Up Arrow — Increase scrolling speed
Down Arrow — Decrease scrolling speed
Escape — Exit Camera Mode

Working With Scripts

Use File → New Script to start a new script.

Use File → Open to open an existing plain-text script.

Use File → Save or Save As to save your work.

Unspool will warn you before intentionally closing or replacing a script that contains unsaved changes. It also maintains a recovery copy of unsaved work to help protect your script if the app closes unexpectedly.

Need Help?

If you’ve encountered a problem, found something that doesn’t seem to be working correctly, or simply have a question about using Unspool, we’d like to hear from you.

When reporting a problem, it helps to include your Mac model, macOS version, Unspool version, and a brief description of what happened and what you were doing when the problem occurred.

Feature suggestions and other feedback are welcome too. Unspool is intentionally designed to remain focused and easy to use, but we’re always interested in hearing how it can better help you prepare and deliver your words on camera.
